On the evening of June 17, 2015, Reverend Anthony Thompson received a phone call he needed to go downtown Charleston to the Emanuel A.M.E. Church. There had been a shooting. His wife was attending Bible study at this historic church. When Rev. Thompson arrived where the survivors were, she was not among them.
